POSITION: PRIVATE VOICE TEACHER
Reports to: Director of Education
Location: Gulfshore Playhouse, Naples, FL
Start Date: Fall 2025
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Education, our Private Voice Teachers play a vital role in providing specific technique refinement education within the Conservatory. This position is responsible for providing private vocal lessons for beginner (30-minute) and intermediate-to-advanced (45-minute) students. Based on current building availability, this Private Voice Teacher will offer lessons one afternoon per week. Additional student support may include guidance on appropriate music repertoire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 30- to 45-minute vocal lessons to students ranging in age from early elementary to retired adults.
- For recurring students, track student progress and provide support to ensure a positive educational experience.
- Offer repertoire guidance based on the student’s age, vocal range, and experience, with attention to healthy vocal technique and character interpretation.
- Assist in the recruitment of new students for voice lessons at Gulfshore Playhouse.
- Work closely with the Education Assistant and Conservatory Manager to maintain a consistent schedule of students.
- Uphold and promote the values of Gulfshore Playhouse based on our company charter.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students, regardless of age, background, or experience level.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Vocal Performance (or similar); or Bachelor’s degree with significant professional Vocal Performance experience.
- Piano proficiency.
- Prior experience teaching voice lessons to a variety of age groups.
- Knowledge of musical theatre repertoire.
- Comfort working within a professional theatre environment, including flexibility during production-heavy weeks.
- Willingness to submit to a background check, in compliance with Gulfshore Playhouse’s child safety policies.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
