POSITION: CONSERVATORY COORDINATOR
Reports to: Director of Education
Location: Gulfshore Playhouse, Naples, FL
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Education, the Conservatory Coordinator plays a vital role in shaping and executing the vision for the Conservatory. This position is responsible for overseeing the program’s operations, logistics, and growth while ensuring high-quality educational experiences for students. Working closely with both the Associate Artistic Director and Director of Education, the Conservatory Coordinator helps set short- and long-term goals, supports artistic and administrative needs, and fosters collaboration with teaching artists, students, and parents to maintain and expand the Conservatory’s excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage class schedules, rehearsal calendars, performances, and special events.
- Serve as the primary liaison between students, parents, faculty, and guest artists, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Work with the Director of Education to recruit, contract, and support teaching artists and guest instructors.
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing and outreach efforts to grow program enrollment.
- Support production management for Conservatory performances, including securing rehearsal spaces, coordinating production needs, and overseeing technical requirements.
- Serve as a Lead Teaching Artist in Process Drama (Story Explorers), Introductory Musical Theatre Skills (Broadway Bootcamp), and Performance/Backstage Intensive classes, as appropriate.
- Track student progress and provide support to ensure a positive educational experience.
- Manage enrollment, tuition, and scholarship processes in coordination with administrative staff.
- Collaborate with the Director of Education to develop and implement curriculum enhancements and new programming.
- Implement existing curriculum for in-school, core subject-focused residencies (ThinkTheatre),
- Ensure all Conservatory programs align with Gulfshore Playhouse’s mission and educational goals.
- Represent Gulfshore Playhouse and its education programs at community events and partnerships.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Directing and/or choreographing experience with varying levels of production support
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with in-house and external designers, directors, music directors, and choreographers
- Educational experience with K-12 students in a variety of curricular environments; high preference to those with an extensive dance education background
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written
- Ability to pass a background check for working with children
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary commensurate with experience
