Assistant Director of Facilities
Gulfshore Playhouse, a mission-driven, professional theatre company located in Naples, Florida,
is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and service-focused individual to serve as Assistant
Director of Facilities. Join us at this exciting time as we continue operating and refining our new,
state-of-the-art Baker Theatre and Education Center and usher in a new era of professional
theatre in Southwest Florida.
Gulfshore Playhouse offers a diverse season of straight plays and musicals ranging from
venerated classics and Broadway hits to contemporary works and world premieres. The
Playhouse is passionately committed to producing high-quality, professional theatre that exceeds
the expectations of the cultured residents and visitors of Naples, Florida—many of whom are
regular theatre patrons in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
Gulfshore Playhouse performed for many years in an intimate 200-seat venue at the Norris
Center, a municipal building operated by the City of Naples. Following the completion of a $72
million capital campaign, the Playhouse opened the Baker Theatre and Education Center, a
state-of-the-art facility featuring a 350+ seat mainstage with a Broadway-sized stage, a 125-seat
flexible performance space, rehearsal studios, classrooms, administrative offices, and rental/event
spaces. In 2022, Gulfshore Playhouse became nationally recognized as the 77th member of the
League of Resident Theatres (LORT). This is an extraordinarily exciting time for the Playhouse,
which is experiencing unprecedented growth.
Employment Details
Status: Full-time, year-round; Exempt
Pay Range: $60,000 – $65,000 annually
Start Date: ASAP
Work Location: In person (Naples, FL)
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Assistant Director of Facilities plays a critical role in
supporting the daily operation, maintenance, and long-term stewardship of Gulfshore Playhouse’s
facilities. This position assists in overseeing building systems, coordinating vendors, responding to
maintenance needs, and ensuring the theatre remains safe, functional, and welcoming for patrons,
artists, staff, and guests.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, solutions-oriented, and capable of working effectively
in a live-performance environment where priorities can shift quickly.
Representative Duties
• Assist in overseeing daily facility operations, maintenance, and repairs across all theatre,
education, and administrative spaces.
• Support the development and execution of preventive maintenance programs for building
systems and equipment.
• Respond to and coordinate emergency maintenance issues to minimize disruption to
performances and operations.
• Coordinate and supervise external vendors and contractors for inspections, repairs, and
specialized services.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations, building codes, and
insurance requirements.
• Assist with facilities budgeting, expense tracking, and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate cleaning and specialty service vendors to maintain cleanliness, presentation, and
operational standards.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, service records, inspections, and
warranties.
• Collaborate with production, education, events, and administrative teams to schedule work
around rehearsals, performances, and events.
• Address facility-related concerns from staff, artists, and patrons in a professional and timely
manner.
• Support the Director of Facilities and serve as a point of contact in their absence as needed.

Qualifications
• Proven experience in facilities management, maintenance, or building operations; theatre,
performing arts, hospitality, or public assembly facilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and life-safety systems.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate vendors and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism under pressure.
• Physical ability to perform hands-on work as required in a facilities environment.
