Gulfshore Playhouse, a mission-driven, professional theatre company located in Naples, Florida, is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and hospitality driven individual to serve as a Supervisor of Events/Food & Beverage. Gulfshore Playhouse offers a diverse season of straight plays and musicals ranging from venerated classics and Broadway hits to contemporary works and world premieres. The Playhouse is passionately committed to producing high-quality, professional theatre which exceeds the expectations of the cultured residents and visitors of Naples, FL, many of whom are regular theatre patrons in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

Gulfshore Playhouse has performed for many years in an intimate 200-seat venue at the Norris Center, a municipal building run by the City of Naples. The Playhouse is in the final phases of a $72M capital campaign and is fully under construction on the Baker Theatre and Education Center, a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a 368-seat mainstage with a Broadway-sized stage, a 125-seat flexible space, rehearsal studios, classrooms, and rental space. In 2022, Gulfshore Playhouse became nationally recognized as the 77th member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT). This is an extraordinarily exciting time for the Playhouse, which is experiencing unprecedented growth.

Status: Full-time, 4-month seasonal position

Pay range: $24 per/hour, occasional tips

Representative Duties: 


Reporting to the Director of Events/Food & Beverage, the Supervisor will play a pivotal role in the planning, coordination, and execution of events while also overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage operations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of service, maximizing profitability, and ensuring client and patron satisfaction. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment 

  • Oversee food and beverage operations, including menu selection, preparation, and service of food and beverages during events/performances. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and costs for food, beverages, and supplies. Monitor inventory levels, place orders as needed, and oversee stock rotation to minimize waste.
  • Supervise staff during events and performances, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Handle cash transactions and process payments quickly and accurately.
  • Complete opening and closing duties as assigned or delegated by management.
  • Assist management team with coordinating venue and event logistics, ensuring the event spaces are properly set up, decorated, and equipped to meet the needs of each event/performance. This might include coordinating with vendors for catering services, beverages, decorations and other outside services. 
  • Assist in training, and supervising Event/F&B part-time staff, including servers, bartenders, and support personnel.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and daily lineups, providing guidance and support to ensure staff is knowledgeable of menu items, well-trained in customer service, food safety, and event/performance procedures. 
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Manage internal and external event budgets effectively.
  • Collaborate with all Gulfshore Playhouse staff members to provide excellent customer service and create a world-class experience.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in an upscale venue.
