John Conway

Assistant Music Director/Keyboard II

John began studying piano in his early teens, spending thirty minutes a day on the prescribed lesson material and another two hours in Elton, Billy, Joni and Carole songbooks. The first record he bought was Isaac Hayes’ soundtrack from Shaft.

After spending several years in more than a few bands, he figured on giving musical theatre orchestras a try. Through this involvement, he’s experienced all 50 states and 20 something countries (give or take).

Prouder moments include serving as AMD/key 1 on AMT San Jose’s production of Children of Eden and the world premiere of Memphis at North Shore Music Theatre.

Less proud moments include tickling the ivories in the men’s suits and furnishings foyer of west coast department stores (actually-for a day gig, one could do worse).

John greatly appreciates the opportunity to be involved in Gulfshore Playhouse’s Beautiful!
