Gulfshore Playhouse, a mission-driven, professional theatre company located in Naples, Florida,
is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and hospitality driven individual to serve as an Assistant
Events/Food & Beverage Manager. Join us at this exciting time, as we prepare to move into

Florida.
Gulfshore Playhouse offers a diverse season of straight plays and musicals ranging from
venerated classics and Broadway hits to contemporary works and world premieres. The
Playhouse is passionately committed to producing high-quality, professional theatre which
exceeds the expectations of the cultured residents and visitors of Naples, FL, many of whom are
regular theatre patrons in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
Gulfshore Playhouse has performed for many years in an intimate 200-seat venue at the Norris
Center, a municipal building run by the City of Naples. The Playhouse is in the final phases of a
$72M capital campaign and is fully under construction on the Baker Theatre and Education
Center, a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a 368-seat mainstage with a Broadway-sized stage, a
125-seat flexible space, rehearsal studios, classrooms, and rental space. In 2022, Gulfshore
Playhouse became nationally recognized as the 77th member of the League of Resident Theatres
(LORT). This is an extraordinarily exciting time for the Playhouse, which is experiencing
unprecedented growth.
Status: Full-time, year-round position, Overtime exempt
Start Date: September 2024
Representative Duties:
Reporting to the Director of Events/Food & Beverage, the Assistant Manager will play a pivotal
role in the planning, coordination, and execution of events while also overseeing all aspects of
the food and beverage operations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of
service, maximizing profitability, and ensuring client and patron satisfaction. This role requires
strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced
environment.
– Oversee food and beverage operations, including menu planning, ordering supplies, and
inventory management.
– Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
– Supervise staff during events and performances, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient service delivery.
– Assist in the planning and coordination of events, including weddings, conferences, banquets, and corporate functions.
– Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring their expectations are met and exceeded.
– Coordinate event logistics such as room setup, audiovisual equipment, decor, beverages, and catering services.
– Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and suppliers.
– Address client inquiries, concerns and special requests promptly and professionally.
– Seek feedback from clients to continually improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
– Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training event/food and beverage service staff.
– Conduct regular training sessions and daily lineups to ensure staff are knowledgeable about menu items, service standards, and event procedures.
– Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
– Assist in budget development and monitor expenses to ensure profitability.
– Manage event budgets effectively, tracking costs and identifying areas for cost savings.
– Prepare financial reports and forecasts as required by management.
– Support marketing efforts to attract clients and promote event services.
– Collaborate with all Gulfshore Playhouse staff members to provide excellent customer service and create a world-class experience.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in a Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or related field and/or
equivalent combination of education and experience in an upscale venue.
– Two or more years’ of proven experience working in a supervisory role in the hospitality industry.
– Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
– Leadership abilities, with a track record of effectively managing and motivating teams.
– Proper Florida license for food safety and sanitation regulations.
– Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event and performance schedules.
– Proficiency in MS Office, Google Docs, event management software, and POS systems.
– Ability to lift, move and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
– Ability to stand for 6-8 hours at a time.
– Enthusiastic and positive demeanor to contribute to a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.

Pay range: Salary, based on experience, starting at $55k
