Majkin Holmquist
Playwright
Majkin Holmquist is a playwright originally from the Smoky Valley region in central
Kansas where she was co-founder of The Next Stage Theatre Company. Her play
Stargazers was produced off-Broadway in Spring 2024 by Page 73 Productions where
she was the 2023 Playwriting Fellow and the 2024 Tow Playwright-in-Residence. Her
play Tent Revival received a digital production through Paula Vogel’s Bard at the Gate in
partnership with the McCarter Theatre Center. Other plays include two headed calf,
Vespers, Every Anne Frank, and Quickmatch. Her plays have been developed at New
York Stage and Film, Woodshed Collective, Page 73, Ucross, and Roundabout Theatre
Company and she has developed a screenplay with Little Lamb Productions and been
commissioned by Cleveland Playhouse. She is a member of Midnight Oil Collective, a
Lecturer in Playwriting at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale, and a former
member of Page 73’s Writers Group. She holds a BA from Bethany College and an MFA
in Playwriting from the Yale School of Drama.
