Gulfshore Playhouse’s Teen Conservatory is an intensive program for 13 to 18-year-old artists with an interest in theatre performance. No prior experience is necessary, but students must have a willingness to learn, grow, and become a part of a professional arts community. Teen Conservatory students receive training in acting and musical theatre performance. This summer the Teen Conservatory will be producing the new hit musical The Addams Family.

About the Show: The Addams Family, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

The Teen Conservatory is Gulfshore Playhouse Education’s by-audition pre-professional acting intensive for ages 13-18. This summer, participants will have the opportunity to rehearse for the new hit musical The Addams Family with director Jeffrey Binder, Gulfshore Playhouse’s Associate Artistic Director and Broadway actor (The Lion King), and choreographer Becky Timms, who previously directed/choreographed Les Miserables and has starred on and choreographed for Broadway. Need-based scholarships are available!

The Teen Conservatory is the ideal program in the Naples area for young artists to refine their skills in:

  • Acting
  • Singing
  • Ensemble Work
  • Auditioning
  • Industry Knowledge

Additionally, students will participate in masterclasses taught by guest artists. The Teen Conservatory is the best way for teens with a serious interest in theatrical performance to gain high-level training to prepare them for future careers.
