Update on Programming and Tickets

At Gulfshore Playhouse, our business is art. We are working diligently every day, every hour, and every minute to ensure we are able to continue creating theatre for our community that transforms and inspires.

But the reality is the challenges of being able to create the art that is our lifeblood is becoming ever more difficult due to the safety and health concerns related to COVID-19.

For thousands of years, the theatre has been a community gathering place that brings respite and joy in times of anxiety. However, we never want to jeopardize the safety and well-being of our patrons, and are taking active steps to evaluate all possibilities of adjusting our programming and performance schedule to limit patron interaction.

While we know this could potentially be devastating to our organization as a nonprofit that relies significantly on ticket sales, and result in a loss of operational funds of upwards to several hundreds of thousands of dollars, we are committed to serving our community above all.

Gulfshore Playhouse will cease theatre operations on Monday, March 16 and will once again undergo a very deep cleaning of the facilities in The Norris Center.  We will assess, daily, the reasonableness of reopening the theatre on March 26 for the scheduled opening of The Lion in Winter.  We will continue to keep our patrons, the community, our staff and our artists apprised of our plans.  The situation with COVID-19 changes daily; we appreciate your patience as we work to do what’s best for the community at large.

In an effort to provide our patrons with the most flexibility, we are providing an expansive exchange policy that will allow you to move your tickets past this season and into the 2020-21 season beginning in October.

While we understand some guests may inquire about a refund, we ask you to consider turning your ticket purchase into a donation to help us continue to serve our community during this crisis, and into the months ahead.

If you wish to make changes to your upcoming tickets, please contact our box office. If you would like to make a fully tax-deductible donation, please click here. If you have any further questions, please call us at 239-261-7529  (our offices are open M-F from 9-5).

Thank you for supporting art, for supporting Gulfshore Playhouse, and for being a member of our theatre family.
