“Tear-stained stories of impossible love have been a staple of theater for centuries. And Mr. Hare’s 1995 drama, his tightest and quite possibly his best, delivers big on the rueful pleasures of that genre.” – Ben Brantley, The New York Times
About the Play
On a cold winter night, Kyra, a schoolteacher, is unexpectedly reunited with her former lover, the recently widowed Tom, in her London apartment. Now forced to confront their shared past, the two find themselves entangled in a passionate clash of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.
