An artist at heart and a relationship builder by trade, Robert Loughry has been effectively connecting organizations and businesses to their target audiences and fostering long term relationships for over 25 years. As Marketing Manager for Gulfshore Playhouse, Robert is responsible for elevating the professional theatre’s brand image while effectively communicating with patrons, donors, and the public at large about what makes Gulfshore Playhouse unique and why attending a Gulshore Playhouse performance can be a life-changing experience. Robert also joins The Playhouse at a very pivotal time and will be responsible for communicating the successful completion of Gulfshore Playhouse’s “Next Stage” Capital Campaign – an effort to build a transformative theatre and education center in downtown Naples.
Prior to joining the Gulfshore Playhouse team, Robert previously worked in higher education, the legal industry, and non-profit performing arts, as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for a northeast regional symphony orchestra. Additionally, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to spend four years as Owner/Agent of Bright Lights Big City Talent Management. In this endeavor, Robert represented up and coming musical talents from around the country in booking, contract negotiations, public relations, and marketing, nationwide and abroad.
Robert’s work has garnered local, regional, and national awards for excellence in creativity and effective communication practices from organizations such as the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), The American Advertising Federation (AAF), The South Carolina Press Association and The West Virginia Statewide Internet Group.
Robert holds a B.A. degree with a dual major in Fine Art and Communications from the University of Charleston in Charleston, WV, during which he spent a year studying aboard in London, England. Robert also holds an M.S. degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University and an M.A. degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University.
Robert believes in giving back and throughout his career has donated his time and talent to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Little Victories Animal Shelter (WV) and many others. He is involved locally with the American Advertising Federation of Southwest Florida (AAF-SWFL).
Robert is married to wife Samantha and has three children, Jalen age 21, Emma age 18 and Leo, age 11 months. Robert and his family currently reside in Marco Island, FL. In his free time, Robert enjoys staying on the forefront of technology, spending time with his family, as well as traveling and exploring what it means to be human.
