How very fortunate we are in Naples to have ready access to off-Broadway quality, professional theater by way of seasonal productions at both Gulfshore Playhouse and Theatrezone.
With the former concentrating on drama and the latter on musical theater, we spoilt patrons have the full spectrum of live theater performances pretty well covered. And as an added bonus, the two founding artistic directors – Kristen Coury at Gulfshore and Mark Danni at Theatrezone – are both seemingly blessed with that touch of magic, which ensures consistently fine productions.
In recent weeks, we have witnessed two outstanding presentations in “The Boy from Oz” at Theatrezone and “Moon over Buffalo” at Gulfshore through March 13. We beg to suggest that these productions would stand comparison with the very best of regional theater anywhere in the U.S. or the U.K.
So Bravo Kristen, Bravo Mark – and Bravo Naples! It’s part of the reason why we keep coming back year after year.
