LECTURES

Demystifying the Bard

Explore the language in four of Shakespeare's plays (Henry V, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet and The Tempest) with an eye toward deciphering and "translating" what the playwright wrote. Shakespeare has penned some of the most beautiful speeches and scenes, but his sentence construction and vocabulary can make it difficult for us today to understand what he meant. Learn how to use the cues he included to discover the meaning and beauty of his work.
